Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion, the student will have the knowledge and skills to:

  • discuss, explore and question the concept of ‘human rights’;
  • distinguish and consider several applications of the human rights concept in theory, law and practice;
  • apply key elements of:
    • Positive Psychology,
    • Solution Focused Counseling and
    • Intercultural Communication to oneself, interdisciplinary teamwork plus a variety of target groups;
  • debate and write English at the academic level;
  • design an adequate professional product that serves a clear set target.

Content

Human Rights in Practice forms the central project of the exchange minor Human Rights Interdisciplinary. The project target is to come up with (a design for) a solution of an issue that is related to Human Rights. Therefor this course offers participants to follow their personal interests with regards to the phenomenon of Human Rights. Students can work on their project individually, or in small groups. At the end the designed product will be presented in an adequate way.
