Content

The work placement is an external learning situation in which students develop specific professional and general higher professional education competences. Equipped with these competences, which consist of knowledge, skills and behaviour, the new CMD graduates will be able to carry out the work in their field in a professional manner.

The duration of the work placement is approximately 100 working days (including the special work placement event). The basic principle is a full working week, in accordance with the collective agreement applicable to the work placement provider.

During the work placement, students participate in the day-to-day operations of the work placement company and department.
As a result, students will:
  • become acquainted with the work of a communication and/or multimedia professional;
  • get to know the organisation or department through hands-on experience;
  • practise specific professional competences as well as general competences.

An effort is made to draw on all of the competences included in the CMD competence profile during the work placement; the extent to which this aim is possible depends on the nature of the work placement itself, the activities that students performs there and students' chosen personal learning objectives.

Particulars:
Halfway through the work placement, there will be a work placement event (compulsory attendance) where students must give a presentation on their work placements.
