Learning outcomes

At the end of this course the transition strategist will be able to:
1. Critically evaluate the energy transition process in the continuously changing socio-political and economic realm.
2. Critically evaluate the complex socio-political interactions at micro, mezzo, and macro levels and interrelations among these levels within the context of energy transition.
3. Critically evaluate a variety of societal, economic, and political interests within the process of energy transition and visions about the energy transition and the interplay between them.

Content

The primary aim of the course “Society in Transition” is to develop students’ abilities in the domains of application of knowledge and understanding and making judgements by (1) developing students’ understanding of the complex interrelationships between economic, societal, and political realms in the energy transition and (2) teaching them to critically evaluate energy transition as a societal process in a continuously changing socio-political and economic realm, (3) which is driven by a variety of societal, economic, and political interests and visions about the energy transition and the interplay between them. Within this course students are asked to take responsibility for their own personal learning process and to actively engage in activities of community of learners.
