Learning outcomes
- students assess the improvement areas for an prototype in order to make the product suitable for the Internet of Things, ie. providing a service with the product to the customer
- Students build the proposed IoT system and make an app to visualise the data
- Students show how to create information out of shared data
- students provide documented evidence of the reliability and robustness of the product by executing validation and verification reporting in an product development report
- Students demonstrate the awareness of ethical and security issues connected to the Internet of Things
Content
- To encourage students to further develop their product to include the latest developments in an ‘Internet of Things’ context.
The work on the project will closely follow the theoretical approach of the lectures in other study units:
Design a reliable and robust product, to be accepted by the market using for example theory from: design methodology, Statistics
You will include an Internet of Things context into your product.
The goal is to develop a business concept and the product to produce. This will be done in the V-model sequence (WHY / WHAT / HOW / VALIDATION) . Several tools will be lectured to research ideas and information necessary for the business concept and product development. Results of the research will be documented in reports to be delivered in the Design History File.
