Learning outcomes
The student:
- calculates the minimal diameter of an axle resulting from load, whether it is strong enough
- checks that an axle does not break the fatigue limit at a dynamic load
- does calculations concerning cogwheels in a given situation in which the information has been specified in tables and specification sheets of suppliers.
Content
This subject covers dimensioning axles, including fatigue and warping. In addition, the student learns the basic principles of cogwheels.
