Learning outcomes
Actuating systems
Make a description of the function and operation of basic hydraulic components based on a schematic drawing.
Describe the function and operation of a basic hydraulic system and hydraulic controls, make calculations based for a basic hydraulic system.
Makes calculations for pressure, force, flow, energy and power for a hydraulic system.
Makes efficiency calculations for hydraulic pumps and hydraulic motors.
Build a pneumatic and hydraulic system during the practicum.
Sensors
Student chooses from different sensors (e.g. temp, radio activity, flow, velocity, pressure, spectrographic, chemical sensors, camera, microphone…) based on physical properties and uses them in an automated industrial environment to control actuators. (measure, control and act
Content
Actuating Systems (hydraulics and pneumatics):
You will learn to read and draw hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, the function and application of various components. You will make calculations for force/torque, pressure, speed, flow and power based on schematics or a practical example. During the practicum you will build yourself a pneumatic and hydraulic system.
Sensors:
You will learn to systematically solve an measuring problem given by the industriy.
