Content
Design methodologies provide a framework for New Product Development. It is a guide through the different phases necessary to go from demand to finished product. This development process is part of the product life cycle. This allows for comprehensible interactions between the parts of the entire model, where the context is left unimpaired. The first three phases in a product’s life cycle (Specification development/ planning, Conceptual design and Product design) are considered to be of major concern during the design of a product. Before the design of a product can begin, the need for that item must be established, either from the market, from the development of a new technology, or from a need imposed by a higher-level system.
