Content

Physiotherapists are expected to work on the basis of evidence-based practice (EBP). Keeping in mind developments in the field, it is important to put together evidence-based  treatment plans that clearly show what the best intervention for a specific patient problem is. This means that a physiotherapist can substantiate his intervention on the basis of scientific evidence from the literature, his own expertise as practitioner, and the needs of the patient. At the end of this block the student will be able to set up a treatment programme in which the clinical experience and expertise of a physiotherapist is integrated with the best available evidence from scientific patient-bound research. To this end, he/she will write an evidence-based treatment plan grounded on the systematic gathering, interpretation and classification of data.
