Learning outcomes
The student is expected to show the following knowledge and skills:
• Research and analyse a given straightforward engineering problem and design a solution for it
• On the basis of the problem analysis, select, place and read sensor data
• Build simple electronic circuits and solder electronic components
• Programme a (control) system that it performs smart certain reactions to the sensor data/signals
• Report on the research, design, implementation, and testing in a technical report
The student is able to define areas which he/she needs to strengthen in order to achieve the above skills. He/She is expected depending on prior education and knowledge to define his/her own learning goals, discuss and explain them to a tutor and evaluate.

Content
The students have a different educational and cultural background when entering the Smart Systems Engineering master. This goal of this project is to bring all students to a common level on a variety of topics. The idea is that students that are lacking in certain areas will improve their skills in those and will be helped by the ones that have already skills in those areas. The students will select together with the project supervisor beforehand which those areas are and the supervisor will monitor the student’s progress.
