Learning outcomes

At the end of this module the student is able to:
  • Systematically investigate possible design concepts for a smart system based on critically analyzing (empirical) data, so that it leads to a proof-of-concept design based on technical requirements.
  • Methodically design (and realize) a detailed smart system based proof-of-concept design so that it leads to the specific solution.
  • Critically validate the answer to the research question with subquestions through a logical line of reasoning from the specified research question to the specific solution.
  • Critically reflect on the systematical investigation and results, recognizing strengths and weaknesses and indicating possible improvements to obtain a specific solution based on a smart system design.
Communicate the new insights, obtained by critically performing research contributing to the forefront of smart system design, in a logical line of reasoning to a public of experts by writing a research paper and presentation, with high information density, leaving no gaps.

Content

During this project the student participates in a Hanze Innovation Workplace associated with the master SSE: Smart Systems, Biobased Economy, or Ondernemen met Techniek or other research work in the professional field. The basis for this project work is delivered by the student group in the Research proposal (See Sustainable Research Skills).
