Content

PT-care 3 consists of 2 courses of 5 EC that are interwoven with each other. Course 1: MSC lower extremity & lumbar spine and course 2: anatomy and skills.
This course concerns anatomy and skills and covers the more practical part of PT-care 3.

In daily practice of physiotherapy, musculoskeletal conditions of the lower extremity and lumbar spine are common. Think of complaints related to artrosis deformans of the hip and / or knee or traumatic ankle or knee injuries. Back problems are common in certain (work-related) situations. During this course the student must be able to demonstrate sufficient medical, behavioral and physiotherapeutic knowledge and skills to assess and treat patients with musculoskeletal conditions of the lower extremity and lumbar spine. Assessment and treatment skills will be assessed formative during the course.
Living Anatomy is a course designed for practice. It comprises identifying, localising, palpating and drawing bony structures, as well as origin and attachment of muscles, muscle bellies, ligaments and tendons of the spinal column and the lower extremity. In this course we will discuss and test the basic anatomic knowledge and skills that we use as physiotherapists. For each student, the Anatomy classes are offered for at least one period in the international classroom where students from the regular and 3-year programme have classes together with international students. This course delves deeper into the materials of Anatomy 1 (Living) and expands on Anatomy 2 and will be completed practical exam.
