Learning outcomes

At the end of this course, successful students will be able to:   

  • interact in professional spoken English at B2 level of the CEFR: They “can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible. They can take an active part in discussion in familiar contexts, accounting for and sustaining their views.”  
  • produce professional English writing at B2 level to advance their personal development: The student can write a clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects related to their interests. They can write letters highlighting the personal significance of events and experiences.  
  • deliver a service for the community of IBS or Hanze UAS at large. Students apply their self-knowledge and organising skills to go through the process of job solicitation, task execution and acquisition of feedback in a protected environment. 
  • identify job needs and relate these to personal qualifications and ambitions.   
  • create professional products to promote oneself on the professional global job market.   
  • express reflections on one’s personal development with the aim of personal growth.
