Content

Intercultural and professional competence is an essential set of skills needed in the modern workplace. Promoting professional behavior in intercultural situations is a critical objective in our current world characterized by increased mobility and social interaction within multicultural environments. Therefore, this course Intercultural and Professional Skills in Business (IPS2) aims to develop students' competencies through two paths of the learning journey.

During the first path of the IPS2 learning journey, students work in teams, develop, and deliver a professional training workshop. The workshop should be planned and organized based on different training needs, related to intercultural competence, assigned in the beginning. The training workshop is interactive training where participants carry out interactive training activities rather than passively listening to a lecture. Coaching meetings and practical seminars are offered throughout the learning journey.

During the second path of the IPS2 learning journey, students work individually, develop an appropriate personal intercultural learning plan for either year-abroad or exchange to IBS. Promoting effective and appropriate behavior and communication in intercultural situations is a critical objective in our current world characterized by increased mobility and social interaction within multicultural environments. Therefore, IPS2 is designed to improve students' language skills and personal development. By the end of this course, students will be able to develop an appropriate personal intercultural learning plan for either year-abroad or exchange to IBS.

IPS2 is related to SDG 4 “quality education” and Global Mindset. During this module, students embrace SDG target 4.5 “Eliminate all discrimination in education” and develop Global Mindset by learning cross cultural differences, enhancing intercultural competence and sensitivity, facilitating diversity and inclusion, addressing discrimination and stereotypes, and providing intercultural competence training to peers.
