Content

Subject methodology is provided by instrument specific subject methodology teachers. The course methodology lessons take place weekly and in principle last 50 minutes. The student agrees the teaching times with the course methodology teacher. Subject methodology is instrument specific methodology so the lessons are given to students with the same main subject or from the same instrument group. The following will in any case be treated: the methodology of the technique; the methodology of learning to make music linked to it and the repertoire for the instrument. Where possible, students from the classical and jazz disciplines are combined in a group for certain subjects. The group size can in principle vary from 1 to 8 students.

The methodology of the technique, the treatment of the repertoire is concluded with a test. This test can consist of either: a written test, an oral test or a (number of) assignment (s). When the tests are passed, the subject method is completed and corresponding credits are awarded.

The student provides 15 instrumental lessons to a trainee student and is guided by the teaching methodology teacher in the internship workshop. From December the student starts observing and giving lessons in the practice of a mentor in the field for a period of 7 weeks. This part of the internship is supervised by the mentor.

Students explore, test and research material and possibilities for creating new work. In the LAB meetings they work towards a joint performance. This "performance" in the form of an exhibition is the end result of a creative process in which creativity, communication and group dynamics are central. From the creative process, students gain insight into group processes through: group assignments, practical examples and action research. An oral reflection will be given after the project. The module is part of the "creative learning" learning line.
