Content

The education of the main subject choral conducting is organized in modules. Covered:
Conducting technique, score study, choral literature, rehearsal technique, orchestral conducting, knowledge of instruments, Hafabra, liturgy, Gregorian chant, pronunciation of foreign languages, vocal training / choir training, testing aspiring choir members, jazz music, children's choir, entrepreneurship, organization concerts & etiquette, choir organizations / libraries / impresarios etc., Basso continuo, old moods, decorations, old notations and customs & accidentiae.

In the course of the study, each student puts together 5 (evening-filling) programs, mainly with choral music. These programs must be studied in the field of conducting, musical and music history. Both a cappella and choral music accompanied by different kinds of ensembles or orchestras must be represented. The programs include (middle ages and) renaissance, baroque, classical, romantic and 20th century.

In the course of the study, each student makes a classification of at least 200 choral works from all style periods in such a way that he can easily answer questions about duration, difficulty, occupation, usability etc. on the basis of this system.

All choral conducting students take language lessons. This is part of the main subject.
