Learning outcomes
The student:
- takes note of the general theoretical background of wind energy, aerodynamics and energy science;
- acquires knowledge of the energy market, transition, wind turbines and wind farms;
- takes note of the legal, environmental, environmental, technical and social challenges involved in the construction of wind turbines and wind farms;
- applies the acquired knowledge in the subsequent modules in the design, construction and maintenance of wind turbines by going through a design process.
- takes note of the basic principles of hydrogen technology
Content
At the end of this module, the student will have knowledge of the theoretical background of wind energy, wind science, aerodynamics, basic hydrogen and energy science in general. Insight has been gained into the energy market and transition, wind turbine blades, wind turbines and wind farms, the legal aspects and environment, ecology and landscape. The student shows that he/she can use the acquired knowledge and theoretical backgrounds in the modules for analyzing, designing, planning, realising and maintaining wind turbine blades, wind turbines and wind farms by going through a design process.
