Learning outcomes
Performance test providing care
The student can, on the basis of clinical reasoning (=justification of the chosen intervention: what, how, why) and from a holistic perspective (=respect, communication, attitude), independently carry out reserved and high-risk actions in simulated and authentic professional situations in which the trainee nurse demonstrates to take into account relevant laws and regulations (=BIG Act, protocols, procedures, EBP).
Learning outcomes to be met by the student:
The student explains which areas of attention he/she includes in the performance of the action with regard to his/her attitude, communication and showing respect towards the care recipient.
The student performs the reserved and high-risk actions according to the applicable protocols and guidelines and, if necessary, can justify deviating from these based on professional or moral considerations.
The continuous programme starts in year 1 with skills education (PR) and is completed with a performance assessment. After the first year, the student ensures that he/she maintains and further develops the competences (professionalisation). The above learning outcomes must be achieved in the main phase.

Performance test providing care
The student is personally responsible for maintaining and further developing competences. The student can do this by
following training at the workplace and/or being assessed by a certified assessor
following training and/or being tested by a certified institute
If the above is not possible, the student can follow training at the study programme and be tested there. Students can register on Blackboard for training and assessment per skill. Several courses are offered during the main phase.
To complete the subtest performance test, students must collect evidence of their ability to perform reserved and/ or high-risk actions according to protocol in a medium to highly complex situation in practice.
This concerns proof of competence of the following actions:
A proof of proficiency is a certificate signed by a certified assessor or a tick mark in a digital test registration system.
Nursing calculus
In the internal digital test environment Iqualify, you can practise calculus skills assignments independently. Via self-study by, for example, watching Master Megens' knowledge clips, you can learn calculacy skills. Several workshops are also offered each year.
Nursing calculus skills are tested with the LOOV's national calculus skills test.
