Learning outcomes

After completion of this course students will be able to:

 
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of advanced financial concepts with a particular focus on corporate and international finance, and investments (international financial markets) at a level that allows students for working with established areas of these topics.
  • Describe, analyse, and evaluate the fundamental financial concepts such as, interest rate composition, bond and equity financing, risk and return, cost of capital and their impact on business performance and making investment decisions.
  • Analyse and evaluate exchange rates and the way variables influence their short- and long-term movements, foreign currency and interest rate risk management and justify the proper tools (derivatives) to reduce this risk, the feasibility of an investment project in an international setting.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the investment process, stock and bond valuation, fundamental analysis, investment strategies, and options.

Content

The course focusses on the business and its internal and external financial environment.
