Learning outcomes

Upon a successful completion of the course ISB, participants will be able to:

• ISB1: Learn on working in an international team of upcoming professionals from multiple universities in both on- and off-line setting (contributes to PLO 7 & 8)
• ISB2: To analyze and apply on the impact on the latest insights on sustainability e.g. circular economy, sufficiency and de-growth theories, models and concepts on contemporary business practices (contributes to PLO 1, 2, 3, 4 & 6)
• ISB3: To identify sustainable and actionable strategies for businesses to enhance their sustainable and competitive advantage (contributes to PLO 1, 3 & 6)
• ISN4: To evaluate and decide on strategies on solving their (international) business challenge on sustainability and competitiveness (contributes to PLO 1,3 & 6)
• ISB5: To develop realistic and grounded recommendations that supports the business to enhance both their sustainable and competitive position (contributes to PLO 3, 4, 5 & 6)

Content

Strategic Focus Areas: Global Mindset and Sustainability

The course ISB is a BIP (EU Erasmus+ program) where students will develop an advice for a real-life company on how to start or enhance their competitive position using sustainable concepts like e.g. circular economy, sustainability or de-growth. Teams will be a mix from all the participating universities and the main research question: “How can contemporary durable concepts contribute to <company>  to become a more sustainable business whilst enhancing their (sustainable) competitive position?”

Students must of underpin their results:
• using the theories, models and concepts of the selected concepts,
• collecting relevant data
• finalizing with tailored analysis
• and building actionable recommendations for business

This course actively contribute to instill the development on knowledge, skills and attitude of participants on the following SDG’s: 8, 9, 11 & 12
