Learning outcomes

The student:
  • Create a fully functional, complex 3D model in SolidWorks.
  • Apply drawing standards related to: Organization of drawing work; Dimensioning for function and/or production
  • Produce manufacturing drawings of assemblies and individual parts according to the mono system, compliant with applicable NEN and ISO standards.

Content

CAD: 3D CAD in Modern Engineering
Mastery of 3D CAD is essential for today's engineers, serving as the foundation for design visualization, production planning, and manufacturing processes. In this module, the emphasis will be on mechanical engineering; designing, analyzing, and optimizing mechanical systems and make and read workshop drawings.
Students will build a 3D model of a can crusher based on sketches and other two-dimensional representations. The expected outcomes include:
3D model of the main assembly, fully constrained, with the capability to simulate the movement of the press; 3D models of individual parts/components; 2D workshop drawings of assemblies with bills of materials; 2D workshop drawings of individual parts (mono drawings)
