A sufficient level is achieved when students demonstrate the ability to formulate their own objectives and conduct a comprehensive execution that demonstrates an integrated mastery of all competences.
Learning Outcomes
LO 1: Relate
Being in the world, the student develops artistic work through a conscious engagement with selected sensations, perceptions, intuitions, environments, and social contexts, transforming these relationships into artistic motives, motivations, and practices that generate meaning, connection, and multiple perspectives.
LO 2: Investigate
The student articulates and applies an artistic methodology through an iterative process of making, reflecting, and researching, in which sources, references, experiences, and contexts are critically examined and interconnected, and reflective analysis of process and outcomes leads to coherent artistic concepts and propositions.
Content
Research & Writing Lab supports students in developing a focused and independent research trajectory that is closely connected to their artistic practice and leads towards the Graduation Research.
Students identify and formulate relevant research questions arising from their work and conduct in-depth investigation into conceptual, theoretical, and contextual aspects of their artistic domain. They learn to select appropriate methodologies and sources, and to position their research within broader artistic and societal discourses.
Emphasis is placed on the integration of practice and reflection: students critically analyse their own work process and outcomes, and articulate the interrelation between concept, material, context and effect. The course develops advanced skills in writing, analysis, and presentation, including the formulation of an artist statement and the production of structured research texts. Students are guided in adopting appropriate writing styles and in communicating their ideas clearly and critically.
Through this process, students establish a solid foundation for their Graduation Research and further develop their ability to position themselves as reflective practitioners within the field.
