Level 2: Deepening & Enriching
A sufficient level is achieved when students deliberately choose their own solutions for problems or assignments with a divergent nature, and when they demonstrate the ability to employ relevant competences, skill, and knowledge in doing so, based on research and experiment.

Learning Outcomes
LO 4: Position
The student compares different artistic positions within artistic, cultural, social, and global contexts and relates their own work to selected perspectives, considering emerging tensions, sensitivities, and points of connection in order to articulate a developing artistic stance.

LO 5: Practice
The student organises aspects of their artistic process and collaborates within a developing practice, shares work through targeted presentations and emerging networking, and makes initial choices in relation to audience, presentation formats, and professional development toward a more self-directed and sustainable practice.

Content

Professional Practice 5 focuses on strengthening students’ ability to position themselves and operate within the professional art field. The emphasis is on strategic development, contextual awareness, and public engagement. Students deepen their understanding of the structures, dynamics, and stakeholders of the art world, including the role of the art market and institutional contexts. They reflect on how these influence artistic practice and explore strategies for cultural entrepreneurship, both individually and collaboratively.

A central component of the course is the development, curation, and presentation of work in an external context, where students gain hands-on experience with professional presentation, collaboration, and audience engagement.

Students further refine their skills in communication and contextual research, learning to articulate their work and intentions in written, verbal, and visual forms, and to engage critically with diverse audiences.

The Theory component supports students in relating their work to historical and contemporary discourses, enabling them to take a more explicit and critical position within the artistic and societal field.
