Learning outcomes
This module encompasses the following learning outcomes within the Project Enzymes in Fungi:
You make an informed choice as to whether one or more enzymes from different fungi are applicable for a biotechnological application;
Using the obtained results, you select the appropriate model for protein quantification, determine its reliability, and also compare different samples or conditions;
You retrieve reference sequences of genomic DNA, mRNA, and proteins from NCBI and utilize these sequences to make predictions about the properties of the respective protein using online software;
You write (in Dutch) a scientific report on the conducted experiment according to the given reporting guidelines.
Content
This module focuses on practical application. You delve into the assignment from the professional field by searching for related scientific literature. This serves as preparation for the practical component. Additionally, lectures are provided covering topics such as statistics, bioinformatics, and bio-methods, which can be applied to analyze the results of the practical work. Ultimately, the reporting lessons serve as a framework for the written skills necessary for composing the scientific report.
