  • Under supervision, you will set up experiments, carry them out independently and systematically, and generate reproducible and reliable results that can be used to answer a practice-oriented research question within the Applied Science domain.
  • You operate within the framework of a management system, ensuring that your own work complies with applicable procedures and contributes to safeguarding quality, safety and compliance with legislation and regulations within an organisation in the Applied Science domain.
  • You gain a thorough understanding of the client’s problems and/or requirements and describe the context, so that you can contribute to proposing a possible course of action within the field of Applied Science.
  • Upon request, you share your own knowledge and skills with others within the field of Applied Science, so that they gain a basic understanding of the use of relevant methods, equipment and tasks.

Content

You will carry out your final-year research project independently at a company, hospital, university or research institute. You will work under the supervision of a company supervisor. The final-year project is worth 30 EC, during which you will develop your final-year-level competencies.

For information about the final-year project, the Brightspace course ‘Work Placement and Final-Year Project’ is available. OnStage is used as the administration system.

The final-year project period lasts 20 weeks. You will begin by drafting a project plan, carry out the research and conclude the project with a portfolio and a defence. The portfolio comprises set and optional components, through which you will demonstrate your competences. Halfway through the graduation period, an interim evaluation is scheduled with you, your graduation supervisor and your contact lecturer.

The organisation where the final-year project is carried out must offer you the opportunity to work on a project that fits the programme profile of your course and through which you can demonstrate the competences required at the final level of your course.
