- Under supervision, you will design experiments, carry them out independently and systematically, and generate reproducible and reliable results that can be used to answer a practice-oriented research question within the Applied Science domain.

- You gain a thorough understanding of the client’s problems and/or requirements and describe the context, so that you can contribute to proposing a possible course of action within the field of Applied Science.
- Upon request, you share your own knowledge and skills with others within the field of Applied Science, so that they gain a basic understanding of the use of relevant methods, equipment and tasks.

Content
You will carry out your final-year research project independently at a company, hospital, university or research institute. You will work under the supervision of a company supervisor. The final-year project is worth 30 EC. The organisation where the final-year project is carried out must offer you the opportunity to work on a project that aligns with the programme profile of your course and through which you can demonstrate the competencies required at the final level of your programme.
For information about the final-year project, the Brightspace course ‘Final-Year Project’ is available. OnStage is used as the administrative system.
The graduation period lasts 20 weeks. You will begin by drafting a project plan, carry out the research, and conclude the project with a portfolio, a presentation and a defence. The portfolio comprises both set and optional components, through which you demonstrate your competences. Halfway through the graduation period, an interim review will be scheduled with you, your graduation supervisor and your contact lecturer.
