Content
Integration domain: in this domain, students are introduced to their future professional field. Students gain practical experience through stage-based work placements and cross-domain projects at a level appropriate to the stage of their studies.
Performing Knowledge/IWP
Within this component of the domain, the theory and history of musical theatre are put into practice. The emphasis here is on establishing links between Education, Research and the Professional Field; Innovation Workshop (IWP). In Performing Knowledge, students integrate theory with practice through research, bringing this together into an innovative whole, including within an international context.
Projects
ArtCore: Within the ArtCore Project, students work with their coach to create a presentation or Performing Arts project based on a theme, in order to gain experience in entrepreneurship and creation.
Project “I”: Project “I” takes place early in Year 9Ba and has an exploratory and collaborative objective.
Project DIZO (Dance, Inspiration, Singing & Entrepreneurship): Project DIZO is a final exam component. It comprises a dance, singing and acting programme produced entirely by the exam candidates.
Integration Project: In the Integration Project, a theatre production is staged under the guidance of various choreographers and directors, integrating different disciplines into a coherent whole.
Theatre Work Placements
Theatre Work Placements offer opportunities for performing artists to gain stage and professional experience, partly independently and partly under supervision.
Repertoire
In the Repertoire module, students learn and rehearse pieces from LMIPA’s repertoire or from the performing arts sector.
