Knowledge domain: in this domain, students acquire knowledge of the theoretical and historical background of the performing arts.
Base
Personal Development (PD)
In PD, students receive guidance – either in collaboration with other students or individually – throughout their academic career, during projects and exchange programmes.
Human and Movement Sciences (MBK) exclusively in year 9Ba
Human and Movement Sciences comprises a basic knowledge of the anatomy, physiology and pathology of the musculoskeletal and vocal systems, as well as subject-specific first aid skills.
Music Theory / Solfège
Music Theory explores the theoretical aspects of music and covers the ability to read notes and intervals.
Solfège involves learning to distinguish notes and intervals by ear and being able to read them, and is taught in various modules, whereby students must first have passed module one in level 9Ba in order to progress to module two, and so on. In total, there are four modules that must be passed.
WOOD
In the Entrepreneurship, Organisation and Digital (WOOD) programme, students are introduced to disciplines relevant to the professional field and supportive of their careers.
Core
Theatre Theory
Theatre Theory places the theory of dance, visual arts, musical theatre, dramaturgy (the study of dramatic art) and music within a (historical) perspective, thereby laying the foundations for an understanding of developments in the contemporary cultural landscape. Students learn to conduct artistic research within and across these disciplines.
Professional practice / artistic research
In these professional practice modules, students learn research methods, both in group and individual contexts, and carry out a number of research projects.
