Learning outcomes

•    The FM professional analyses trends and developments and translates these into sustainable and innovative strategies with the aim of achieving optimal and future-proof facility management. In doing so, they take into account the organisation’s (long-term) vision, the needs of users and the external environment.
•    The FM professional anticipates the implications of developments relevant to FM and presents themselves as a reliable discussion partner for specialists, with an eye for added value.
•    The FM professional collects and analyses information relevant to the issue at hand in order to produce an appropriate professional output (advice or design) that contributes to an optimal experience for employees or users of the environment, with a focus on quality.
•    The FM professional demonstrates responsibility in facilities processes and projects by collaborating responsibly with stakeholders on professional outputs that are strategy-related, thereby achieving impact.
•    The FM professional oversees the creation of a facilities-related professional output (which contributes to (social) value creation within the organisation) with a focus on behavioural aspects.
•    The FM professional adopts an inquisitive approach and uses practice-oriented research to arrive at a professional product in a well-founded manner; they are critical of their own professional role and continuously develop their leadership and collaboration skills.

Content

For an organisation, the student carries out an analysis and provides advice or a design regarding a complex facilities-related issue. Supervision takes place within learner communities, combined with workshops and site visits by the supervising lecturer.
The student presents the professional outputs to the client and gathers feedback on their performance. The portfolio assessment covers the student’s personal and professional development.
