3.2 You position and profile yourself and your own practice in relation to developments in the field, work field and (developments in) society.
4.2 You observe, analyse and research the field, work field and related (social) subjects in a structured and traceable way and reflect on how your own actions relate to this.

Content

General (CM, Windband, Jazz, Classical, Choir)
You continue to build your knowledge base and craft-based musical skills. You take an exploratory approach to music in context (contextual studies), with an emphasis on analysis and harmonic-contrapuntal aspects. You attend classes in contextual studies, solfège, and (depending on your specialization) additional theory subjects and/or piano practice.

In the course, you work on:

  • developing and applying subject-specific knowledge and skills in advanced professional situations and contexts;
  • developing your own artistic identity based on theoretical insights, societal developments, and personal engagement;
  • methodically evaluating your own actions, skills, and work.

CM
In addition, you take contextual studies in pop-jazz and 20th-century music, harmony & counterpoint, and orchestration, with extra emphasis on analytical and stylistic depth.

You take contextual studies and harmony, supplemented by solfège and piano practice within the windband practice.

Jazz
You take jazz history and jazz theory (analytical and harmonic), supplemented by solfège and piano practice within the jazz context.

Classical
You take contextual studies and harmony, supplemented by solfège and piano practice within the classical practice.
