Toegepaste Psychologie Deeltijd

Programmabeschrijving

 
The bachelor’s programme Applied Psychology comprises a programme of 240 ECs (a first-year programme of 60 ECs and a main phase programme of 180 ECs). The programme comprises a major and a minor. The major is composed of compulsory and elective units. Additionally, students choose a minor that allows them to specialise in a chosen field or to broaden their generic or subject-specific knowledge and skills. The programme is composed of six practice-oriented semesters (30 ECs) and a work placement (30 ECs). Applied Psychology graduates are able to assess, research and modify behaviour and set up practical interventions for intrapersonal and interpersonal issues using psychological theories, methods and techniques and displaying a professional and entrepreneurial attitude. 
 

Leeruitkomsten

The programme equips students with the competences required of a professional in the field of Applied Psychology. These are:
1. Assessment of behaviour. Students have learnt to set up and carry out psycho-diagnostic research. This includes data gathering and analysis and the interpretation of behavioural issues.
2. Modification of behaviour. Students have learnt to assess needs for development, education and/or change, and to create a programme aimed at improving functionality. Students have learnt to modify behaviour methodologically through coaching, training or counselling.
3. Research. Students have learnt how to set up and carry out research and are able to utilize existing research by trained psychologists for practical purposes.
4. Professionalisation. Students have learnt to improve their own professional conduct through critical thinking, clear reasoning, entrepreneurial orientation, cooperation orientation, reflection on behavior and ethical awarenss.
