Upon successful completion, the student will have the knowledge and skills to:
- apply several values of his/her own (sub-) culture and analyse these values by using at least three theories discussed during the module (Kluckhohn, Hofstede, Schein, Sen, Hall etc);
- know how to visualize the described values by means of visual and auditory symbols/signs/heroes (artefacts);
- be capable of holding a meaningful dialogue/conversation with a person of a different culture;
- reflect on his/her intercultural communication analyses into relation to theories of several cultural specialists (Hall, Hofstede, Schein, Kluckhohn, Kitlyn Tjin a Djie);
- know how to illustrates core values of other cultures by creative means;
- apply the solution focused approach in his/her professional environment.

Human Rights in Practice forms the central project of the exchange minor Human Rights Interdisciplinary. The project target is to come up with (a design for) a solution of an issue that is related to Human Rights. Therefor this course offers participants to follow their personal interests with regards to the phenomenon of Human Rights. Students can work on their project individually, or in small groups. At the end the designed product will be presented in an adequate way.
