Main Learning Outcome
The student defines which requirements office accommodation must meet, taking into account the indoor environmental conditions, which are related to housing
The student:
- specifies the criteria on the basis of which the thermal comfort of employees in an office environment is influenced
- defines the composition of air, what forms of air pollution occur, what the possible causes are and how these contaminants can be prevented or reduced
- defines what noise is, which factors cause noise pollution and identifies measures which improve acoustic comfort and prevent or limit hearing damage
- defines what light is, which factors influence visual comfort and how the environment (depending on light sources) is perceived
- identifies the function and operation of different (components of) building-related installations and identifies the effects of these installations on the office environment
- appoints the importance of individual control of the working environment

Inhoud
The student is introduced to the physiological aspects that influence personal comfort in relation to the indoor environment. These aspects are: thermal, acoustic, and visual comfort, air quality, and appearance and individual control of the working environment. In addition, the student gets acquainted with the function and operation of various (parts of) building-related installations and can identify the consequences of these installations on the office environment. By means of interactive lessons, the student is prepared for a written test at the end of the course.
