Leeruitkomsten

1. The student can use financial arithmetic to assess the extent to which an investment is financially profitable according to various selection methods (including the NCW method)
2. The student can describe the strategy of an organization and investment selection under uncertainty by means of sensitivity and scenario analysis.
3. The student can assess and advise on financing requirements, repayment capacity and dividend policy on the basis of predictions about exploitation and cash flows.
4. The student can prepare a financing plan with various possible forms of financing, taking into account the requirements of potential capital providers.
5. For valuation issues, the student can calculate the future free cash flows and the relevant cost of capital using the CAPM and WACC method.
6. The student can assess the financial position of a company by means of ratio analysis.
7. The student can describe or assess working capital management and advise on this.
8. The student is able to outline the main points of how irrational behaviour can influence prices and financial decisions (behavioural finance).

Inhoud

The module Corporate Finance 2 elaborates on the fundamentals of financial management (COF1). Drafting and understanding financial statements at market values, interpreting various valuation models and comparing values with book values. Calculating and interpreting financial ratios. Drafting and understanding financial planning and investments. Investment decisions and other financial computations. Working capital planning and cash management. Funding for investments, the capital structure of a company and the influence of leverage. Break-even analysis and general indifference computations. All is provided within an applied form with the help of Excel.
