Leeruitkomsten
After completion of this module the student can:
- Calculate, for steel bending, the force and other parameters required for different applications.
- Calculate, for punching, the cutting forces, edge distance and geometrical tolerances.
- Calculate, for deep drawing, the relevant tool and product dimensions and required forces.
- Describe, for welding, a series of different applications and processes.
- Calculate the effects of welding on product and material (low alloy and stainless steel).
- Apply the collected parameters of welding in a WPS and calculate the cost of welding.
Inhoud
In this module of 3 EC the student will acquire specific knowledge towards so called non-cutting production technologies such as: welding, bending, shearing and stretch forming.
For an engineer working in today’s compatible market, being able to find the best suitable compromise between task and costs, is a vital skill to have.
After completion of this module the student is able to determine and/or calculate the main parameters necessary for the process chosen and will have enough knowledge on the subjects of cost calculation and production times to make a profound choice towards the production method most suitable.
