In practice, it is increasingly common that you work on one project together with several people.
In the Laboratory Course you work on a specific research project, preferably from a client (research center of company). Before a starting a project, it is important to describe the current situation regarding the project assignment: what do you know and what you do not know. Explain the goals that you and the group want to achieve and make an realistic planning for this within certain boundaries (time, budget, infrastructure, knowledge, etc.). You adequately execute the research project in the laboratory and communicate with the client (work discussion, report, presentation).

Inhoud
The Laboratory Course in theme 12 of Medical Biology is a continuation of the research project started in theme 11. Various types of projects are executed, e.g cell- and tissue cultures, research on biochemical pathways, cancer research, extraction and analysis of plant components, et cetera.
Students will work on (ongoing) research project linked to the Knowledge Center Biobased Economy, Center of Expertise Energy, Innovation Centers or Companies. A variety of project will be available, which will be presented shortly before the start of the module.
In total 9 days of Laboratory days are scheduled, beside the theoretical aspects of research (literature research, preparation of experiments, elaboration of results) which is done outside the laboratory.
Students will be assessed based on their practical skills, on a research report and a poster (including presentation).
