Inhoud

In this module students learn to consider, in their personal and professional communications, the cultural background of the clients and other stakeholders assumed based on critical incidents. Using various methods (Cultural Detective, DMIS, Diavers, TOPOI), students learn to analyse a series of intercultural incidents and are encouraged to explore in depth and express their opinions in relation to the topics relevant for each incident.

The student will learn and practice to engage, in a culturally sensitive manner, in conversations with potential clients and colleagues while advising and giving feedback/feedforward to each other. At the end of the module the student will be able to demonstrate awareness of different (organizational) cultures and sub-cultures and styles of communication and adjust their professional behaviour accordingly.

Students also participate in an online intercultural competence test (IDI scan) and develop an intercultural development plan based on this test.
