• The student learns to manipulate melody, harmony and rhythm in relation to form and orchestration in an arrangement.
• The student learns to write scores and parts for jazz quintet, sextet and septet.
• The student will acquire the techniques to harmonize lines from 2 to 5 voices.
• The student learns the range and transposition of the trumpet, trombone, saxophones (soprano/alto/tenor/baritone), guitar and bass.
• The student acquires the basic knowledge for writing for guitar, piano, bass and drums.
• All arrangements are played, and the student is then given direct feedback.

The last assignment for septet will be recorded in the PCC recording studio.
