Inhoud
The Professional Practices course explores theoretical questions within the field of art, alongside the practical aspects of professional artistic practice, including but not limited to museum management, curatorship, and other roles within the cultural field. Topics addressed include the role of the artist as creator, researcher, educator, and curator; the relationship between art and its social context; private and public art collections, and the social and artistic functions of art museums.
The course includes field trips with on-site discussions of current exhibitions and presentations. Students develop fundamental skills in oral, written, and visual presentation, as well as methods for conducting contextual research.
