Inhoud
This course serves as platform for exchange and interaction with students of various departments. It is designed to encourage you to form an ensemble with fellow musicians from the azz, classical and C &M and get acquainted with some of the key pieces of contemporary music influenced by various styles. Think of music by Ellington, Berio, Zappa, Reich, Jacob TV, Andriessen, Stockhausen, as starting point, followed by the newest compositions and techniques of today.
The aim is to find your own musical identity by remixing existing pieces using cross-genre approach and focus on your creative and communication skills. You will learn to listen and perform outside your comfort zone and get new ideas for creating your own show, performance set or a project. Timing, improvisation, dynamics, body language, theatre elements, giving and receiving ques are tools to achieve that. But before all create new music together on a high performance level.
