Inhoud

What is stage presence and how can it affect audience’s perception? How can we deliver an introduction to our performance that reaches our audiences? Which details do we need to consider when preparing an oral presentation? These questions (and more!) will be answered in this course through a combination of theory and (a lot of) practice. In these 10 sessions, students will learn effective pre-performance routines that set them up for a successful and confident performance, as well as how to use their physicality to enhance stage presence and convey confidence, predisposing audiences to have a more engaging experience. Furthermore, students will work on and develop communication and presentation skills, being provided with simple but effective tools that will help them deliver their message in an engaging and convincing manner – whether it is the introduction of a concert or the results of their research -, by working on body posture, content, and delivery. Lastly, students will be introduced to new ways of presenting their music based on context and audience.
