Inhoud
The goal of this course is to strengthen students’ time feel by utilizing a variety of techniques and exercises. We will work with the metronome in diverse and innovative ways. Singing, clapping and dacing are combined to develop a mind/body connetion. This will help students develop a precise sense of timing and rhythm, which is crucial for both solo performance and ensemble playing.
Students will train to hear and internalize rhythms from various aural perspectives. This involves learning to identify and reproduce rhythmic patterns and syncopations in different time signatures, enhancing one’s overall musicality and adaptability in different musical contexts.
The course is practical, with a strong emphasis on action learning. Students will actively engage in exercises and activities that reinforce the material in a hands-on manner. Through this approach, students will be able to directly apply what they learn in real-time musical situations, solidifying their understanding and skills.
Testing involves demonstrating one’s ability to execute what we have studied.
