Music in Education

Profile of the programme

Music in Education is a full-time bachelor's programme for students who want to develop into broadly oriented and innovative music professionals in the educational domain. The programme is based on the pillars of making education, making music, making projects and making choices, each of which has a recognizable line in the programme.

The programme trains professionals who perform complex professional tasks in a changing world with an eye for the impact of their work in a broad sense. Alumni of the programme have broad knowledge of the field, are self-aware and critical, and possess a strong ability to collaborate with professionals from other fields, across social, cultural and national borders.

The programme is practice-oriented with a focus on developing competencies from the national programme profile in relation to the mission of the Prince Claus Conservatoire: The Prince Claus Conservatoire realizes music of the future by training music professionals who are versatile in professional practice and are curious about the world around them.

The program integrates theoretical knowledge, experiential learning, and professional development into topics relevant to society and in specific contexts relevant to the student. The content of the programme is increasingly determined by the student during the course of their studies, in consultation with their supervisors. Students graduate within the framework of the study programme with their own graduation project.
