- defines a simple facility management study
- explores a topic through desk research
- prepares, implements and produces a report on qualitative research and has an enquiring mind
- devises and implements an appropriate survey and uses software to process the data and to perform calculations
- answers qualitative and quantitative research questions and makes recommendations based on the outcomes of desk research
- produces a research report in accordance with the applicable rules, including rules on structure, source references (APA) and spelling
- verbally justifies the research carried out and critically appraises it by indicating areas for improvement
Content
As part of a project group, the student completes the entire research cycle for a facility-related problem: from orientation and demarcation to the writing of a report including recommendations. Data are gathered to apply the 7S and DESTEPI models and via diverse qualitative and quantitative methods.
Sub-assignments, covered and feedbacked during the lectures, steer the process. Assesment takes place based on the group report and an individual oral exam.
