Learning outcomes

For a service or trading company the student, individually, has the basic knowledge and skills to:
  • analyze complex dynamic international supply chain environments
  • apply Logistics and Supply Chain theory in order to make well justified supply chain decisions in line with the company’s strategic goals.
The principal decision making areas will be Demand Estimation, Inventory Management, Warehouse Management, Production Planning, Purchasing, Supplier Selection and Transportation Management

Content

Students participate in groups in the TopSim Logistics simulation game (Business Lab 3). During these sessions students will further explore the Logistics and Supply Chain theory. In the simulation game, assessment is based on a group’s performance whereas in this module the student has to apply the knowledge gained individually.
 
Individual assessment will focus on ensuring that each student is able to perform the calculations necessary to make well justified logistics decisions within the Topsim Logistics simulation.
