Learning outcomes
After finishing this module the student, without the help of a calculator:
- solves systems of equations for up to three variables
- uses integration and differentiation techniques to solve engineering problems
- analyses and uses logarithmic, trigonometric, exponential, power and absolute functions
- applies the basic rules for vector and matrix calculations
Content
In this Calculus module we cover the basics of algebra and calculus and add the subjects of vectors and matrices. During this short high paced course, we will encounter basic algebraic techniques for solving (systems of) equalities and learn about some common functions like exponentials and trigonometric functions. The course will end with techniques for differentiation and integration and the basics for vector and matrix manipulation. During the course, we will apply our techniques as much as possible to engineering problems.
