  • Collects, analyzes and interprets data based on chosen research methodology and responsible choices in a transparent and traceable manner. (3c)
  • Reports and communicates research results in written reports, and possibly artistic form and knows how to present these convincingly. (1a, 1d, 3d, 4d)
  • Reflects critically on his role as a researcher and demonstrates this in master's research and work review. (5a, 5b)
  • Initiates and leads activities that result in transfer of knowledge and skills acquired in the master's program by interacting and collaborating at different levels (4d)
  • Creates social and/or economic value based on analysis in an ethically responsible manner from his knowledge and skills acquired through research and is able to make these convincingly visible to others. (2d,3d,4e)

Content

In the research proposal, the student independently articulates his or her own research question, based on an analysis of art educational practice and relevant and current theories and policy issues. To this end, the student builds on the acquired knowledge and insights gained in previous master workshops. The essay, artistic file, the pedagogical vision or an art educational experiment can be a reason for further research. In the research design and plan of approach, the student indicates his own research direction and sorts according to the research method, data collection and practical readiness of research. On the basis of the proposal, the student sets up his own modest research and uses its findings to contribute to the strengthening and innovation of the art education field (in the broad sense). The writing of the research proposal is supported by lectures by the research teacher in the fields of question articulation, participation, source research, practical readiness, methods & techniques, quality control and ethics. This is accompanied by counseling discussions by the research supervisor and feedback from experienced researchers. Writing the research proposal and the research itself may be done individually or with a fellow student.
