Content
In this module we are going to give the creative muscles plenty of room! The central topic of this module is the short story. Through many exercises and assignments, we will explore different approaches to writing stories. We will explore a number of important concepts such as narrative perspective, “show, don't tell,” exposition, sensory writing and suspense.
Through much reading, discussion and listening to each other, you will learn to look critically at texts and sharpen your own work.
You will conclude the module with a final project, a short story.
Prior knowledge or experience is not required for this module, only the desire to learn to express yourself creatively in written word.
A nice bonus: your scientific writing and observation skills will definitely improve as well!
