High energy demand, reduction, more sustainable generation, and more efficient use of fossil fuels (trias energetica). Fossil fuels are still needed for the time being. Engineers need insight into thermodynamics, cycles, efficiency, etc. This module focuses on closed systems, where chemical energy is converted into heat through combustion and then into work. Main laws of gases, etc. Thermodynamics (main laws of energy). Practical exercise: bicycle pump.
