Leeruitkomsten
After completion of this module the student can:
- describe the principles of cutting processes, process and product characteristics of turning, milling and hole-making operations;
- describe and apply the turning, milling, hole-making operations and their tools and tool wear;
- calculate, for turning, the machining data such as feed, depth of cut, cutting speed, cutting force, cutting power, cutting time and tool life based on a given technical drawing, material, type of cutting material;
- calculate, for milling, the machining data such as feed, depth of cut, cutting speed, cutting force, cutting power, cutting time based on a given technical drawing, material, type of cutting material;
- calculate, for drilling, the machining data, such as feed, cutting force, torque, cutting power based on a given technical drawing, material, type of cutting material.
Inhoud
In this module of 2 EC the student will acquire specific knowledge towards so called cutting production technologies such as: turning, milling, hole-making operations.
For an engineer working in today’s compatible market, being able to find the best suitable compromise between task and costs, is a vital skill to have.
After completion of this module the student is able to determine and/or calculate the main parameters necessary for the process chosen and will have enough knowledge on the subjects of cost calculation and production times to make a profound choice towards the production method most suitable.
