The Classical Music program focuses on enterprising performers who move flexibly in the contemporary classical music world. You will learn about the history and contexts of classical music and you will be challenged to relate to it as a contemporary performer in your own way. You will come into contact with a broad repertoire, from old to contemporary music in the classical idiom. From a broad basis, you will profile and specialize yourself during the training within one or more styles, whereby you will be stimulated to explore new paths. During the program, you will do an internship with an orchestra or production and you will regularly work on projects involving both chamber music and solo performances. Graduates of the Classical Music program work from their own artistic vision as a performer in the national and/or international music world, teach and organize various projects and productions.

• Masters the craft (playing, singing, composing, producing, teaching, conducting, etc.) at a professional level.
• Makes music that is related to relevant musical contexts and can justify this on the basis of theory and research.

The student gives shape to musical expressions based on his or her own artistic vision and identity.

• Initiates and/or contributes to collective and/or individual creative (making) processes.

3. Environmental orientation
The student signals developments in professional practice and society and positions himself or herself and his or her own work in relation to this. 

• Demonstrates awareness of what is happening in the world/society and recognizes the relevance of this for his or her own music.
• Positions and profiles himself and his own practice in relation to developments in the field, work field and (developments in) society.  

4. Research & Development
The student evaluates his own and/or other people's actions and musical/artistic expressions on the basis of reflection and research in order to continue learning and developing.

• Observes, analyses and researches the field, work field and related (social) topics in a structured and traceable manner and reflects on how his own actions relate to this.

The student demonstrates a range of communication and social skills and applies these when interacting in various professional contexts

• Brings musical work (on- and offline) to the outside world.
• Interacts in various musical situations, contexts and/or creative projects.
• Presents himself, musical work and research in a way that invites dialogue.

The student realises ambitions in/via sustainably designed professional situations and networks.

• Maintains a (starting) own practice and acquires and/or creates opportunities to develop musical activities.
• Organises work processes in such a way that artistic, business, organisational and/or social activities are carried out coherently and in a balanced manner.

The student stimulates and/or facilitates the musical/artistic development of others.
